Social Responsibility

At Island Partners Hawai`i, our corporate social responsibility is to be an active leader and example in fostering sustainable tourism, which nurtures and cares for both the cultural and physical environments within our community.

social responsibilityour symbol of sustainability is the taro, or kalo plant.

Taro plays a very important role in the life and sustainability of
Hawaiians. In Hawaiian mythology, it is believed that mankind
evolved from Hāloa, the younger brother of Kalo.
Environmentally, 100% of the taro plant is used—no waste.

It is both an obligation and a privilege to nurture, perpetuate and properly share our island culture… Mālama ka ‘Āina (“care for the land”)

Environmentally, we have adopted internal policies and practices that focus on the 4R’s: reduce, reuse, re-buy, and recycle resources.

Now, we’re expanding these efforts to include our interaction with our customers, and our resort and purveyor partners.

We strive continually to be culturally and environmentally sensitive.
